eMarketing with GoldMine

If you want to be sure that no one else is logging into GoldMine as you, or ensure your GoldMine security, the one way to make sure of this is by setting a GoldMine password.

To set your GoldMine password in GoldMine Standard or Corporate go to Edit | Preferences, in GoldMine Premium Edition go to Tools | Options.  Then click on Change Password.

Then, in the upper area enter your current password, or leave blank if you don’t have one…  In the lower area enter your new password twice.

Then click OK to set the password and OK again to exit your preferences.

Now, the next time you login to GoldMine, you’ll be required to enter your password.

Ad Impact

I use Ad Impact to display the ‘Sticky Notes’ that seem to float on many of my several sites.   It’s super-easy to implement and has many dozens of different options for graphics and fonts.

GoldBox Updated

in Misc.

INTERFACE IMPROVEMENTS:
For GoldBox-7, primarily. All GX7 screens have been sharpened, redesigned for clarity and consistency. Most noticeable at the 20 Saved Setup screens, which now also feature a right-click popup menu. The Field Mapping screen for Import/Update has also been improved. Its right-click popup menu now reveals options that were always available, but not accessible in an intuitive manner. Look for subtle improvements to the Global Selector, Query Builder, Expression Builder, GX-Browser, and Setup Wizards in your GoldBox-7 system.

When you are viewing Saved Setups at the wizards or in the Global Selector, you'll notice the last column is now the date the Setup was Created / Added.

Burned-in logos for running the GoldBox EXEs have also been enhanced, as has the default logo for the Views. At the Batch Processor, a logo will now appear in the lower left corner.

GoldBox Views, for all releases, received improvements for View sizing and bolding of the Grid, Note Viewer and Note Title. Other minor changes were prompted by the creation of the new 1-View for Archived data (see below), such as opening a File from a Lookup List, and the addition of VLinkToOTF().

You may want to click on various "properties" at the Game Board on the Web site to see the new screen shots.

HISTORY/E-MAIL ARCHIVE:
The procedure is the same, but the View of that archived data from GoldMine has been completely overhauled. Gone is the 3-View approach – here is what the new 1-View looks like (2nd image):
http://www.redstonesoftbase.com/index_000019.htm

It's easy to configure the Template – nothing more than a button click at the Setup screen. Even better: This template can be applied to multiple Archived datasets, whereas the original 3-View template could only be used once. Finally – the Template (VU01AARK.ZIP) is exactly the same for GoldBox-5, GoldBox-SQL and GoldBox-7.

For GoldBox-5 and GoldBox-SQL, this was the one concession to acquiring interface improvements applied to GoldBox-7. The History / E-mail Archive setup screen is now identical across all 3 GoldBox releases.

VIRTUAL ORGANIZATION CHARTS:
You can now choose the font and bolding of the displayed charts in the GoldBox View, but the big improvement is in customizing the break lengths. Prior to 2008-T, the break lengths were hardcoded at 25 each, for up to 4 breaks. You can now alter these. For example, if breaking on State, City, Zip and Company, you can make the break lengths:
STATE: 2
CITY: 30
ZIP: 10
COMPANY: 40

Looks like GoldMine Corporate Edition 7.5.1 has been released…
